Can a GPA Be Used to Sell Property in Delhi?

A General Power of Attorney (GPA) is commonly used in Delhi property transactions. However the Supreme Court in Suraj Lamp v State of Haryana (2012) clearly held that a GPA sale does not transfer ownership. Only a registered Sale Deed can legally transfer property.
